first, your pheromes click. flood your brain with lust/love juices.

then you ensure further production by hanging out with potential love object.

then your brain gets tired of all that work. your psycho-biolical beings gotta start doin the further love things without stimulants.

then you begin building love connections in your brain on purpose. you begin re-wiring your own brain chemistry through thought and act.

then sometimes you love because you committed to love; sometimes you wonder just what the heck you're doing; sometimes you catch a glimpse of the long-term value of loving and thank God for the opportunity.

some people seem to fall in love and never think of it again. i'm not sure how that happens. but for me, loving has been a journey, choice, act, driven much by choice on the outside and more quietly (and powerfully?) by, what? some kind internal mechanism that i don't understand.

but i don't think that Christians have a better lock on love than other people. it would be an interesting study, the psychological healthiness of love relationships in people heavily committed to outward forms of Christianity compared to those with loose or no connections to Christianity or other religions.
