Ambassadors of a present reality

It occured to me the other day our being ambassadors of the mystery of the gospel (i.e. Christ in you) involves a right now dependence on the life of Christ 'as' our life, not some future hope in heaven. An ambassador is a citizen representing where he/she lives and experiences life. Imagine someone who's citizenship and experience is based on a future hope or place; what would he/she base their representation on: book knowledge, wishful hope, group think or tradition?

As citizens of heaven, soil in which the kingdom of God grows, and beings through which the life of Christ is manifest; we have unlimited potential as amassadors of those present realities 'if' we experience and are conscious of them in the present rather than hope to experience them in the future.

Imagine a perfect place, existence or way of living where only unconditional acceptance and love exist along with the soul meaning and purpose of knowing God and bearing his fruit; no death, no pain, no fear, no worry, no anxiety, no satan, no suffering, no separation, no toiling for food, shelter or clothing, no rule or any governing authority other than the life and headship of Father who indwells us and is us. Now let yourself believe that place exists right now, for you...and live in it, depend on it and experience it.

It's not a fantasy. Yes, with satan ruling this world there are imperfections; call it sin, suffering, pain, whatever...but the kingdom of God and Christ aren't part of this external world; they are within you...'in the world but not of the world.' We live in this imperfect world as amabassadors of the perfect world, the kingdom of God, Christ in us 'as' our life.

Sure it's scary...to leave behind all this world has and move to the kingdom of God; to give up your life for Christ's life. I think Nelson Mandela said it so well...imagine a guy giving up 25 years of his life in prison, not seeing his daughter grow up, so others might be free.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
