How do you reconcile God who can't look on sin, who's holiness is repulsed by it

with...

Jesus (God as man) who hung around whores, alchoholics, tax collectors (the greedy), the demon possessed and many other 'sinners'?

    maybe the issue is how we use the word "look."

    As I understand it, Jesus hung around those who sinned. He didn't look upon their sin. He looked upon those who sinned.

    Does God define us by our humanity, or by our shortcomings?
